Print This Page in PHPmotion

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

printWhy would you want to print a page for a site that focuses primarily on videos? Well, PHPmotion also handles blogs and images.

Another more practical use is to put a Print This Page function on your Terms and Conditions, Advertise, and About Us pages.¬†Each of those pages is located in your current theme folder. The default folder would be: /themes/default/templates/ and each file begins with the name “generic…” i.e. generic_terms.htm.

These files are probably the simplest files in your PHPmotion directory. To insert an unobtrusive “Print This Page” link, find this code:

<!–*********DO NOT EDIT ABOVE THIS LINE**********–>
<h1 style=”border-bottom:1px solid #dddcdc;”>Terms of Use</h1>

And replace with this code:

<!–*********DO NOT EDIT ABOVE THIS LINE**********–>
<div style=”float:right;”><a href=”JavaScript:window.print();”>Print this page</a></div
<h1 style=”border-bottom:1px solid #dddcdc;”>Terms of Use</h1>

You can add a Print This Page to any other page in PHPmotion very easily. Just find the section you want to add it to, figure out where in the code where you want the link to appear, and paste:

<a href=”JavaScript:window.print();”>Print this page</a>

Demo: Print this page

This was tested in:

  • PHPmotion 3.5 rev35
  • PHPmotion 3.5 rev72
